If you would like to have perfect skin on your wedding day, here is my perfect skin checklist for the bride-to-be.
Ok ladies, congratulations! You have made it to the fun part of being a bride! If you want to have perfect skin on your wedding day, read my tips below.
If you are going to be doing your own wedding day makeup, be sure to see my tips for DIY wedding day makeup.
The best part about being a bride is looking luminous, glowing, and radiant on your wedding day. Yes, of course the ring sparkles and the dress stuns, but your most beautiful feature on your wedding day is your skin!
You will want to glow from head to foot, and feel red-carpet-worthy.
Here are my beauty tips and strategies to have the most perfect and glowing skin on your wedding day!
If you are starting several months before your wedding you have time to put a lot of these tips from my checklist into place.
Read on to get gorgeous, glowing skin…
1. Think about seeing your dermatologist to get a plan going for getting perfect skin for your wedding day.
They can do an in depth analysis of your skin, and together you can come up with a customized plan to perfect your skin.
These skin strategies take time. You can discuss injectables and other procedures, such as laser treatments. 1 year out
2. Start nourishing your skin early on, in the bath or shower.
Your best chance at beautiful skin starts in the bath or shower! Get a routine going early on, and use a gentle body wash.
Be sure to apply lotion immediately afterward, for the most moisturizing benefit. 1 year out.
3. Think about keeping stress to a minimum if you want perfect skin for your wedding day.
Stress will just deplete your skin, and cause a host of stress related skin conditions.
This is the time to focus on relaxing, meditation, yoga, (there are apps for meditation.) 1 year out.
4. Think about laser hair removal.
This is 9 to 12 months before the wedding and there will be multiple sessions, but oh the benefits!
Imagine not dealing with hair removal while planning your wedding, and the joy of going on your honeymoon without thinking about shaving!
6 sessions spaced about 6 weeks apart. 1 year out.
5. Think About Getting Regular Facials from a Pro
Get referrals, check around, and find the best aesthetician for your budget and goals. You don’t need to do this a lot.
I think about once a month should get your skin into its best shape.
But do this far enough out from your wedding date to give your skin time to adjust. 9 months out
6. Think about exfoliating Followed up with a Brightening Serum.
Regular exfoliation is key to having luminous, glowing skin. When old dead skin builds up, it gives the skin a dull appearance, and fine lines also are accentuated.
Follow this exfoliation with a brightening serum to give you the best lit from within glow on your wedding day.
You should exfoliate once a week at first, and then you can progress to twice a week as you get closer to the wedding date.
7. Consider Dry Brushing for perfect wedding day skin.
Dry brushing not only exfoliates, but it increases blood circulation, and it increases the flow of lymph, the fluid that takes toxins out of the body. Dry brushing helps remove waste from the body.
Start with three dry-brushing sessions per week, building up to daily, and make sure to apply plenty of moisturizer afterward.
Do this before your bath or shower, and you will be amazed at how radiant your skin will look.
Start this regimen several months before your wedding.
Ditch the Wine and Consider Juicing!
We are celebrating, we are excited, we are nervous! But wine is the biggest offender when it comes to depleting our skin of nutrients and making it look dry and grayish!
And don’t forget the broken capillaries and puffiness; the last thing any bride wants for wedding beauty.
At least 3 months before the wedding try to substitute that wine with green juice.
It’s oxygenating and full of minerals to drain the puffiness from skin. This will make such a difference!
What is the best facial for beginners?
- Microdermabrasion Facial: This is the fastest and most thorough way to get rid of layers of dead skin. You will instantly look younger and more glowing.
- Chemical Peels: A chemical solution is applied to the skin in order to remove any dark sun spots and smooth fine lines.
When is the best time to get a facial in order to have that “glow”?
The best time to get a facial is at least one week before you want your skin at its best, as it gives the skin a chance to calm.
BUT don’t experiment with any new facial techniques a week before the wedding. See my tips below!
Which facial is best before my wedding?
Now that you have been devoting yourself to facials, you will want a gentle facial a week before your wedding. Try one that is soothing and hydrating.
You’ve done all the heavy lifting with the more dramatic facials, so try a soothing, hydrating facial the week before.
You don’t want to experiment with exfoliation, microdermabrasion, or anything too new and aggressive right before the wedding.
How often should I do a facial in the months leading up to my wedding.
Skin care specialists recommend that people have a professional facial about every three to four weeks. That’s how long it takes your skin to move through the full life cycle of skin cell growth and exfoliation. A facial helps that process along. The treatment will keep your skin clean, clear, and toned.
Can you give yourself a facial?
There are so many products out there these days for spa grade at-home facials, that I think it’s safe to say that you can augment your professional facial regiment with a few of these yourself at home.
Facials should be done at night when your skin is most ready to repair, so think of it as another method to unwind.
Your skin also renews every 20-30 days, so you’re likely to see results within several weeks of your facial.
In the era of social distancing there are some facials that you can buy to do yourself at home, that are just wonderful, and have near professional results.
OF course nothing can substitute for a professional facial, but if you have been keeping up with those regularly, you can keep the good results going with some at-home treatments.
Drink plenty of water for perfect skin for your wedding day.
In my experience this will create the most glowing skin, and you won’t have to compensate with a bunch of shimmer (although that will be pretty in moderation).
What should a bride eat for perfect glowing skin on her wedding day?
Don’t overlook the power of great nutrition to get beautiful glowing skin.
Foods that help with natural glow:
- – Protein. Include fish, lean meats and eggs.
- – Fats. Oily fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines and trout contain beneficial fats, which promote skin hydration, resulting in plumper looking skin.
- – Nuts. full of natural fats, these promote gorgeous skin.
- Eat a rainbow. … This is age old wisdom and it’s true! You will look younger and feel great.
AND DO avoid bad fats like saturated fats and fried foods, as well as sugar. It thins the skin giving you a gray, drab appearance.
- – Sugar
- – Bad fats
- – Alcohol. Gray, drab appearance, dry skin, and more lines!
Try a Keto diet
People who are on the ketogenic diet can expect to see more radiant and glowing skin.
Why? Because this diet has a higher oil content and that can contribute to skin glow, and thicker, more supple skin.
This low carb diet also results in more oil production, which contributes to softer, more glowing skin
